Number of Ideas: 9The Careers in the Arts Toolkit
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is partnering with Art Beyond Sight (ABS) and other partners to develop the online Careers in the Arts Toolkit. Projected to be launched later in 2018, the project seeks to increase employment opportunities in the arts for people with disabilities through an online resource and educational webinars to connect job seekers and employers with key supporting resources and practices. It will feature materials to assist artists and other cultural workers with disabilities in their career development; build capacity within arts organizations, arts service organizations, and the disability employment sector; and offer assistance to grantmakers seeking to create equity for this important talent pool. The goal of this current dialogue is to build upon information gathered in a previous NEA-sponsored dialogue, the Careers in the Arts Dialogue which identified and examined several key issues related to opportunities for people with disabilities in the arts. To view all the ideas from our first dialogue click Career in the Arts Dialogue Ideas . Our objective in this current dialogue is to take a more in-depth look at those key issues, and explore effective resources and programs pertaining to these targeted areas of focus. Additionally, we would like dialogue participants' input in identifying and exploring new key issues to ensure that we are including the best, latest, and most comprehensive resources and exemplary programs in the toolkit.
